Gimme a...realistic portrayl!
Glee.

I love you sfm. Seriously. But there is one thing bugging me, ruining my enjoyment of you. And we need to have a chat about it.

There is NO WAY The Cheerios are going to Nationals, let alone win with their routine. They have no tumbling, no stunts, and no crowd leading. (I can't even remember a time when we saw them doing even the slightest bit of tumbling and crowd leading. I remember some stunts in the beginning I think) Those are a big part of your points. And stilts? Since when can you use stilts? Did they change the rules on me? I mean, I know it's been a while but still.

If you need a cheerleading consultant, I offer my services. You don't even have to pay me. Just let me take Jane Lynch out to dinner and make out with Dianna Agron and we will be even.

(And now I totally get why my husband (the pilot) gets so pissed off when they show airplanes on movies/tv and really mess things up.)

Even as a flight student it's the most infuriating thing on earth. And a lot of the time it's the dumbest mistakes and all they'd have to do is google.

LOL He says the EXACT same thing. He is like don't they have Google? Jeeze! He also hates stock footage. He points at the screen and says stuff like "they don't even HAVE that plane anymore"!

LOL, my absolute biggest pet peeve is when they use stock footage of one plane and then cut to the characters in a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT model, or use an Airbus cockpit when it's supposed to be a Boeing, etc.
Kellyxlivvielockex on April 22nd, 2010 03:17 am (UTC)
Are you sure you and my husband don't pass a brain back and forth cause he says that too. He is like that is not the right interior! Really, planes/flying is like his one thing. Otherwise, he is this really mellow and chill guy, not much gets under his skin. But planes/flying, BAM! He is like The Hulk.
phantom_queenphantom_queen on April 22nd, 2010 02:59 am (UTC)
LOL, it doesn't bother me b/c I don't really know anything about Show Choir or Cheer-leading.

But I imagine it's the same way I feel about telephones and call traces on crime shows.
Kellyxlivvielockex on April 22nd, 2010 03:08 am (UTC)
I don't know anything about Show Choir so that part is okay but I do know cheerleading and cheerleading competitions. I think it's one of those things that if you know something about it, it's going to irritate you if they don't do it right.

I have a friend in the Las Vegas forensics unit and you can't even breathe a word about CSI without her going OFF.

Although, I'm a big fan of all three CSI shows, I even know it's not how it's done.

No CSI interviews suspects! That's what irritates me the most.

You are talking about the Cheerios here. They can apparently get away with anything. I don't think the rules even apply to them. lol

And uh... you stay away from Dianna!:P
Kelly: Glee: Quinnxlivvielockex on April 22nd, 2010 04:00 pm (UTC)
I will totally share her after our makeout session, promise. ;)

And I wonder if Sue is going to blackmail the head of NCA so they can use stilts in their routine. LOL
Heather: Dianna Yellow BGdejahnerra on April 23rd, 2010 02:56 am (UTC)
How about this? You take Jane out to lunch and I'll make out with Dianna. :P lol

She so would. lol Blackmail seems to be her go to thing. lol
Kelly: Glee: Gag Reflexxlivvielockex on April 24th, 2010 04:33 pm (UTC)
Well...can I at least watch you make out with Dianna? LOL

may i say i love seeing someone as crazy as i am? except i'm more bugged by small things like the fact THEY ALWAYS WEAR THERE UNIFORMS. why? why ?!?!?! and someof the glee club practices make me wanna bitch slap people. that is not how its done! it just.. isnt! merrrrr!! deep breaths.
Kelly: Glee: Roll Callxlivvielockex on April 22nd, 2010 04:02 pm (UTC)
The uniforms thing doesn't bother me because during football season, I think I wore my uniform more than street clothes. We wore it for game days (home and away), any pep rally days, and then spirit days. I can wank it that days pass so maybe they wear street clothes then.

I don't know anything about Glee Club/Show Choirs so I will have to take your word on it. :)
gigi_tasticgigi_tastic on April 22nd, 2010 08:36 pm (UTC)
its just that theres no way they would be able to sing alot of the songs they do sing. i know next to nothing about show choir but thats what my friends tell me and because i'm to lazy to care i believe them. at my high school they wore them for game days and such but it wasnt like everyday. i think its funny because a few cheerleaders that i do know hate having to wear their uniforms because that means not being able to dress the way they want. then again these are girls with prada bags and looks straight out of Vogue. do i sound biter? because i so am
Tara: Drew - white flowercraving_vintage on April 22nd, 2010 06:32 pm (UTC)
THEY ALWAYS WEAR THERE UNIFORMS.

I don't know, I think that's supposed to be more of a gag than anything else. Like a har har, they are wearing their uniform all the time.

I'm probably wrong. lol

And the thing is some of these shows from Glee to Grey's Anatomy have professional consultants. So, you're thinking well they must don't know much if this is being shown or if that is being done.

But also, it is Hollywood and entertainment, so they aren't going to follow everything to the letter or correctly.

Too true. Real life is boring most times.

I do think, though, that everyone has one of those things that they know a lot about it and it can just make them pause and go huh? Or in my husband's case, make them yell. LOL My husband knows planes, my mom medical, my best friend military and horses.

Most times I can suspend my disbelief but this was like a little annoying bug in my ear. LOL

That's definitely true. lol

Or in my husband's case, make them yell. LOL My husband knows planes, my mom medical, my best friend military and horses.

That's a lot of knowledge to go around.

Most times I can suspend my disbelief but this was like a little annoying bug in my ear. LOL

Totally understandable! lol

You're welcome. I'm glad you like him.

I get soooooo pissed off whenever I recognize something is inaccurate! I had a huge bitch fest just watching The Holiday and being all, "OMFG YOU ASSTARDS!!! You CANNOT drive down the PCH towards malibu from teh north if she's coming from the airport because THERE IS NO FUCKING INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ABOVE MALIBU!!!!!!"

And no not get me started about historically inaccurate costumes.

The routine in Glee didn't bother as much cause I am forever suspending my disbelief with that show. I think of it as, this is a comedy and a darker comedy at that. They do things just for the lolz all the time. *hates the way Artie talks about "gettin' up on this." just a pet peev.*

The thing that bothers me is how Rachel and Finn get all the fucking solos. It's like ok...any choir i've ever been in everyone gets a solo if they can reasonably carry a tune. That and I find Mark Salling ridiculously sexy and I think he needs more solos. I'm just saying is all.

Sorry for zee late reply. I think that everyone has like those issues that just really stick with them. Like I know shit all about medical stuff but my mom, she calls shows out constantly. My husband calls out for airplane and sciency stuff. So it's nice that everyone has something. :)

We all have our little pet peeves! It's what makes us human!

For me, Glee doesn't bother me so much, because I see it having little connection to reality. I, however, can understand your frustration because there are tons of little things that bug me from a scientific (sometimes medical) perspective on shows. (I may have once, not admitting anything, gone into a rant about how liquid nitrogen couldn't have been used for a murder weapon the way the show had it being used. May have. *grin*)
Kelly: Glee: Quinnxlivvielockex on July 14th, 2010 06:57 am (UTC)
Sorry for the late reply here. I think that everyone has those little technical things that just rub them the wrong way. I mean, I can watch medical shows and I shrug my shoulders. My mother the doctor is like no, that isn't right, that isn't right, etc. We all have those button issues, I think. :)
